Meet the Owner and Founder of M Cita Consulting- Megan Mock!
Megan is an Atlanta based artist with a background in performing arts and education. With a deep passion for the arts and a commitment to advancing the missions of nonprofit organizations in the cultural sector, Megan brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the forefront of fundraising and advocacy for arts nonprofits. It is her goal to maximize the impact cultural organizations can have on their communities and cultivating the next generation of artists. M Cita Consulting was created by her desire to make as wide of an impact as she can by lending her talents to various organizations to create the change we want to see in the world.
As a military brat, Megan lived in multiple countries and quickly learned how the arts transcends language and provides a supportive community. Megan attended fine arts schools from 7th-12th grade until eventually pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Performance from Virginia Commonwealth University- the #1 public arts school at the time. After completing her degree, she moved to Dallas, TX where she spent 5 years building a children’s theatre and serving as the Artistic Director and Director of Development & Communications. She later transferred to the non-profit sector and joined Junior Players, the oldest arts non-profit in Dallas/Fort Worth. She currently serves as the ‘Grants Manager and Prospect Research’ for the Tony Award Winning Dallas Theater Center.
Megan’s experience with fundraising is mostly focused on Arts & Culture, Education, and Animal Welfare, but is expanding into various other sectors. She has vast grants experience in government funding (local, state, and federal), foundational funding, corporate funding, and prospecting. One of her favorite aspects of development is getting to flex her creativity in building new and exciting campaigns to engage individual donors. Throughout the years she has worked with multiple organizations in various capacities including individual giving, communications, change cycle management, volunteer coordinating, project management, and more.
Megan utilizes her expertise through M Cita Consulting to advocate and promote the arts as a fundamental component of a vibrant and inclusive society. She is a firm believer in the transformative power of the arts to inspire, educate, and unite people from all walks of life.
When Megan isn’t fundraising, she continues to teach performing arts classes and perform around the Atlanta Metroplex. She loves spending her free time with her husband and her 5 very clingy pets: Stevie the Old English Bulldog puppy, Rosie and Zoe the tortie cats, and Lola and Pippin the rabbits. You can catch her reading thriller novels, hoarding plants, hiking, and crocheting in her free time.
I wholeheartedly recommend Megan Mock, an extraordinary grant writer and storyteller whose work I deeply admire. During our time at a Tony Award-winning organization, her creativity and expertise were pivotal in securing several six-figure grants. Megan's ability to listen, craft compelling narratives, and produce exceptional written work transformed our efforts and saved us during a critical period. Her dedication and skill are unparalleled, and I have no doubt she will bring the same level of excellence to any project she undertakes.
